Mill Table Tray

This tray goes between your vise and table. It helps keep the coolant and chips out of your T slots, and off of your ways, screws, and motors.

The important thing is that it is wider than the length of your table plus the length of the X axis motor. The ends are bent down to stream the coolant away from the mill. The front and back are bent up to keep the coolant and chips off of the Y axis. The back shield doesn't keep all of it off, so it helps to have a Z axis bellows and a Y axis bellows behind the saddle.

With the vise mounted shield in place, almost nothing lands on the front Y axis bellows.

I had this one made out of stainless, but next time I will probably go with steel to make it easier to use a magnetic mounted test indicator.
