Cherry and Maple Armoire

Materials:

  • 3/4" solid Cherry frame
  • 1/4" Maple plywood panels
  • 3/4" solid Maple drawer front
  • Birch plywood (drawer carcass and shelves)

Construction:

  • Mortise and tennon joints on door frames.
  • Biscuit joints on the rest of the frame.
  • Floating panels in dadoes.

Features:

  • 270 degree hinges so the doors may be left open to ease loading and unloading.
  • Adjustable shelves with center divider.
  • Lightweight. Moving it is a problem of size, not weight. The armiore is one piece construction, one of my few regrets. I would suggest making it break apart into a drawer and shelving unit to make it easier to move.
